Tis the season for… mikan 

みかん , mikan, or mandarin oranges or clementines, depending on where you are, are very popular in Japan and are particularly ubiquitous in early winter when they become ripe in our area. If a person has a mikan tree, they can find themselves suddenly drowning in the little fruits, and thus they get distributed to whoever will take them in very high numbers: friends, neighbours, the local postman, anyone!
